Dreams of Hue

Wait a little longer
I have some things to ponder
In my heart, a space for you
Full of sunshine, skies so blue
A quiet street of oak
A nice thought to provoke

I dream of you in blue and brass
In serenades of times gone past
I dream of you on top of mountains
Your reflection in the fountains
In the city
In a bar
Next to me
never far
I dream of pain and blood so red
Bullets whizzing past your head
I dream of dark and shiny trumpets
Playing taps and no regrets
And I cry
and I weep
In my dream
there’s no sleep

Somewhere lay the answer
To a question so demure
Hiding away from my aching head
I want to see where your heart bled
Until we meet again
My lover, not fiend

I dream of you in blue and brass
In serenades of times gone past
I dream of you on top of mountains
And your reflection in the fountains
In the city
In the bar
Next to me
Never far
I dream of snow and blood so red
Bullets whizzing past your head
I dream of dark and shiny trumpets
Playing taps and no regrets
And I cry
And I weep
In my dream
There’s no sleep
