Hurray For The Weekend!

I’ve been itch­ing to try Week­end for ages. The Week­end Kitchen and Tap­room is a gas­trop­ub locat­ed at The Green­ery. The chef and one of the own­ers is Jan Rodriguez, the main man behind Ila­Puti, a long time favorite. The oppor­tu­ni­ty pre­sent­ed itself dur­ing our dear JR’s birth­day cel­e­bra­tion. Con­fused on where to dine, I told the crew we should check out Week­end.

Each of us decid­ed to order dif­fer­ent meals so that we can sam­ple dif­fer­ent dish­es all at once. The ver­dict? We were not dis­ap­point­ed! The Week­end lived up to the Best New Restau­rant of 2017 award. Every­thing was as tasty as the pic­tures. Leave your diets at the door and bring your appetites.


Roy­al­ly skewed. A taste of the Mid­dle East with Angus Beef Kebab. Grilled, aro­mat­ic herb and spice infused Angus beef sits on mujad­dara, with a touch of tzatzi­ki


I don’t even like fish, yet I’m think­ing about it like an obsessed lover. Fish & Chips — steam­ing, hot, crispy, beer-bat­tered fish, cider slaw, hand-cut dou­ble fried fries. I’m hun­gry just writ­ing this post.


Bacon should be a major food group. Bacon Bour­bon Steak is maple-glazed, grilled bacon with pick­led onions, grilled toma­toes, and eggs. If you don’t like bacon, we can’t be friends.


WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?! Fat Bas­tard is a thick cut, dry-rubbed, bone-in pork chop with roast­ed gar­lic, greens, and dirty rice. Omit the rice and you get a keto-friend­ly meal.


Not your ordi­nary bird. The Fire­burd is roast­ed chick­en on a bed of cau­li­flower purée, baby arugu­la and roast­ed pota­toes dressed in olive oil. It’s a healthy indul­gence.
